Hope Is Contagious!

I have witnessed many people who will not give themselves a chance to be hopeful. Hopeful for change, hopeful for transformation, hopeful that the future will be better than the past. Sometimes we dismiss them as being pessimistic. I see it as a lack of faith. It takes supernatural vision and insight to see what God intends to do in your future and hang onto it, albeit sometimes it may feel as though you’re hanging onto a thread that soon will snap!

“Always make your future bigger than your past” – a famous quote from the book Laws of Lifetime Growth that has inspired my own journey. It does not mean that you will be richer and physically stronger. Even though it may mean that as well. It does not mean that you will have no challenges and always be happy. Even though that is possible. It does not mean that you will achieve every single one of your dreams. Even though that is possible. It means that you will believe God for bigger and greater things, beyond your current imagination. That is a sign that your faith is growing.

Hope in the future can only be based and grounded in God. As much as we may love and trust in earthly structures, scripture tells us all these things will pass away. We can only put our faith in the promises of God. As much as we may be swayed to think our world is doomed and condemned, we can still place our faith and trust in God’s everlasting power. He works in the impossible things to prove to us what’s possible.

The contagion effect. Every visionary I’ve ever been around carries this effect. It’s a unique way of inspiring people to live beyond their here and now. It is the ability to let your hope and faith rub off on others. Can you see what I see? Can you envision what the future holds? Can you take a leap of faith and believe that your latter will surely be greater than the rest? Can you believe that God will do the impossible in the future?

As the last part of the “love chapter”, 1 Corinthians 13, states; “these three remain; faith, hope, and love…” We must have a strong faith and hope that rubs on to others and makes them carry the same faith and hope. Real faith is not flaky. You don’t need much faith to acquire material things. You need wisdom, good principles, diligence, and discipline. that’s why there are many unbelievers who are successful with the material things.

On the contrary, you need a lot of faith to cast out devils, faith to command those things that are not as though they were, faith to cast down vain thinking, faith to remain hopeful when situations seem hopeless, faith to believe God for miracles, signs, and wonders, faith to see and apprehend the impossible. Now, this kind of faith is contagious. This kind of hope is contagious. This is what we ought to aspire to be and do!

Let my hope and faith be contagious!

I have a passion for all things Christ. I am in the world and not of the world and so I engage in political and social discussions as they cross my path. Can we resolve the pressing issues of society using the word of God and His power? I think yes!
