Fame in the Name

From Adam – the first man to live and the first man to fall. The goal was to make Him famous. To Eve – even in deception, His name had to be made famous. Because before Adam was, He is!

From Noah – the only righteous man to escape the vengeance of God to Abraham and Sarah – the first sojourners in search of the city of God. His name had to be famous.

From Isaac to Jacob and his 12 sons, the promise of the nation of Israel was carried through. The goal was to make Him famous in the end.

From Moses the redeemer, who rescued His people from captivity, the path was being paved for His name to be famous. To Joshua the conqueror, who established a nation. His fame was finding a home to be born into.

From Samuel the faithful prophet to Ruth the unusual ancestor. From Esther the unexpected savior, to Nehemiah who rebuilt the city walls while Ezra rebuilt the worship. His name was finding its fame.

From Daniel who faithfully served foreign kings to Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah who kept the embers of His life and His Kingdom alive, the path was being made straight for His coming.

From John The Baptist who cried “prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight…” to His chosen disciples who received Jesus, believed in Him and followed Him to their death. His name had to be famous.

From Paul the Apostle who defined the church and spread it beyond Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and died for her sake. He lived to make His name famous.

These men and women became victorious, overcame trials and short comings and died, for the sake of the name of Jesus. It is the most famous name on earth today. His 33 years on earth left a mark that still lives on today with over a half of the world’s population professing His name because before He lived in the earth, He was!

There’s fame in His name and His name alone.

The list in Hebrews 11 goes on today for all those willing to sacrifice greatly and give of their lives to see Him made known. The fame of the name of Jesus is the only true fame we can desire. That we shall be known as those who lived to make Jesus famous.

I have a passion for all things Christ. I am in the world and not of the world and so I engage in political and social discussions as they cross my path. Can we resolve the pressing issues of society using the word of God and His power? I think yes!
