In light of the recent shooting of a young man in Georgia, it is easy for all of us to get caught up in the euphoria and passionate debate on whether this was a racist action or not. I think it was a clear case of racial profiling and vigilante policing. Having said that, our response ought not to be vilification and name-calling. We ought to take a step back and consider the souls of everyone involved. The two men who killed this young man need to come face to face with a loving Savior, Jesus Christ, and consider their sin. The family of this young man and all those who knew him need to heal, and the society in general needs a refresher on how to handle such situations.
My response will not make anyone happy but my hope and prayer is that it will make everyone think…and pray.
