What Matters To You?

We live in a political environment where anything and everything goes. We have freedoms like no other nation on the face of the earth. We have the power to determine our destiny be it economically, socially, or politically. We have access to the latest, most sophisticated technological advancements. It’s a great time to be alive…says man. It’s a great time to give ourselves to all that our environment has to offer. It’s a great time to lavish in the luxuries of life…says man.

What matters to you will determine your perspectives. It will also drive your passion.

Does Everything Matter?

The born again, regenerated man ought to have a different story to tell. What matters to the sinner should not be what matters to the believer. What matters to you? Does it matter that many are perishing and going to hell? Does it matter that many don’t even get the chance to be born? Does it matter that many are born in dysfunctional homes? Does it matter that many haven’t heard the Gospel?

What matters to you says a lot about you. We’re inundated with images daily that desire to consume our time and purpose. Everything wants to matter in our hearts and minds. Everything fights for our space.

Black lives matter has become one such movement. It has consumed every area of our lives and pressed on us, especially those of us that are black, to accept and embrace the racial agenda behind the movement. They have attempted to tell us that we’re an oppressed and victimized race and we should be outraged. They have attempted to tell us that the police are not there to protect us but to harm us. They have attempted to tell us that the reason we’re not as successful as we would want is because of the color of our skin. Most devastatingly, they have pushed the narrative of white privilege and told white people they’re inherently better off because of the color of their skin.

What matters to them:

• A reversal of the social order. They want to be the dominant race and rule over the white majority that lives in the US.
• It’s no longer equality but doing unto them what was done unto our ancestors. Our ancestors, not any modern day injustice.
• To sneak in the LGBTQ agenda and force us to pledge loyalty to both agendas in one.
• To push for an unattainable social equilibrium – socialism – that has never worked anywhere in the world.
• To eliminate what they call the ‘western idea of a nuclear family’ – because it’s so tainted with ‘male patriarchy’.

Inherent injustices are a result of the fall of man. The solution can never be found in revenge. ‘The wrath (vengeance) of man cannot produce the righteousness of God’. We cannot correct sin issues with social systems. Only God can correct matters of the heart. Laws help prevent crime but can’t change hearts. We’re dealing with matters of the heart since the laws to prevent injustices are already in place.

What matters to you should be what matters to God – turning the hearts and minds of men from sin to God

What matters to you, child of God?

• Is it that 75% of African American homes have no fathers or that the KKK still exists and racist people are still around.
• Is it that 40% of all aborted babies are African American or that 20% of all fatal police shootings are African American?
• Is it that the US is the wealthiest most prosperous nation in the history of the world and you get to live in it, or that there are still some incidents of racial sin manifestations?
• Is it that you’re free to worship and serve God as you choose or that there are a few who don’t like you because of your race?
• Is it that Christ died for ALL, even the racist sinners, or that historical injustices must be paid for in full?

What matters to you will determine your perspectives. It will also drive your passion. If Christ is truly shifting your focus and perspective then what matters to you will shift to what He desires, that all men come to the knowledge of Christ.

What matters to you should be what matters to Him – turning the hearts and minds of men from sin to God – not just what ails you the most, not just what ails the world around us the most!
